In less than five months’ time, The Utilita Arena Birmingham will play host to the world’s best gymnasts as the 37th edition of the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships takes place across the 9th to 19th November 2023.

Birmingham will welcome over 1000 athletes from over 40 nations as they compete across eight days of thrilling competition, in an event that encapsulates the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championship, the World Age Group Competitions, and the first ever Junior World Championships. To ensure the city hosts a Championships like never before, the search is now on to assemble a community of passionate, dedicated volunteers to help deliver a truly unique event this summer.

Applications are open to everyone 18 years and older, with a variety of roles available, including hospitality, athlete and event services, ticketing and spectator services, ceremonies, media operations and much more, presenting a vast range of opportunities to play a part in an event that is also a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

No previous volunteer experience or formal qualifications are needed to participate as role and venue specific training will be provided once roles have been allocated, aligning preferences, availability, skills and experience with Championship needs.

Completed application forms must be submitted no later than 12th July.

Speaking on the launch of Volunteer recruitment Dominic Elsom, Championship Director, commented:

“I cannot stress how important a role our volunteers will play at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships. They will be the heart and soul of our event team, helping make both athletes’ and spectators’ journeys very special.”

“Come and join us! Come and be part of something really special. For most roles, you don’t need any formal experience or qualifications, just passion, positivity and enthusiasm to get involved.”

Following the application closing date, applicants will receive details on the next stage of their volunteer journey, and depending on the volunteer role that is allocated to you, the minimum number of shifts required will be confirmed in the next stage.
